CAP Committee

This committee is the worksite political-legislative arm of the local union and is the vital workplace political activator.  While CAP priorities are developed by Convention action – implemented by the National CAP Department through the regions and our network of CAP Councils – the Citizenship and Legislative Committee is the basic link with our members at work in assisting the implementation of voter registration and get-out-the-vote drives, dollar drives, letter writing campaigns, and publicizing the issues and positions of public officials.  The committee also encourages special groups at the worksite – youth, women, minorities – to become active.
